Joshua’s recipe of the day-Twisted breadsticks.


Havering’s finest junior chef nine-year-old Joshua Puncheon from Harold Wood, today starts his first recipe of the day for all of you to try at home.

Easy Twisted Breadsticks
Ingredients
-200ml lukewarm water
-350gr Bread
Flour, plus some for dusting1 1/2 tsp dried instant yeast
1/4 tsp sugar
1/4 tsp salt

50ml Olive Oil

fennel seeds (optional)

Step 1

In a bowl,put the lukewarm water,add the yeast and mix to melt.


Step 2

One by one,add all the Ingredients and mix it well.


Step 3

On a floured surface,or in a mixer,work the dough until elastic.

Step 4

Place the dough in an oiled bowl, cover, and leave it in a warm place until doubled in size.


Step 5

Joshua prefers the oven, with only the light on.

Step 6

Once the dough has doubled in size, tilt it on a floured surface and slice it.


Step 7

Gently dangle the pieces one by one, twisting them.


Step 8

Place them on a baking tray and bake @180C for 20/25 minutes, or until golden brown.


Step 9

Leave them to cool completely,2/3 hours,before you can enjoy them as you like!
