Havering ’90 Joggers

It was another very busy weekend for Havering ’90 Joggers, member Denis Mole came second in his age category by seven seconds at the Deep RiverRock Belfast City Half Marathon in a time of 1 hour and 51 minutes.

46 members raced at the Ingatestone 5 mile race on Sunday, Havering ’90 Joggers Ladies team consisting of Emma Bolton, Melanie Green, Lara Harradine and Kate Pettit came first in the team competition with Laura Dobie, Lisa Gaskin, Carol Nelson and Elaine Richardson all beating their personal bests.

Member Melisa Lunn completed the Shine Walk, a night time 26.2 miles walk across London showing amazing determination whist raising money for Cancer Research UK.

Eight members swapped their running shoes for a wetsuit to complete the Swim Serpentine, congratulations to Stuart Allen, Mark Dalby, Jane Evans, Melanie Green, Caroline Hall Cross, Josy Hughes, Darren Radford and Brian Slade. 

Six of these members not only completed the swim, but by finishing it, and also by previously completing the London Marathon and Prudential Ride 100, Allen, Dalby, Evans, Green, Radford and Slade collected their London Classics medal.  Maximum respect to Slade who is 70 and complete all three events in 6 months, along with Dalby and Radford.

Havering ’90 Joggers had 64 member at 12 different parkruns, with Keith Bates (33:18), Peter Burdett (23:09), Brian Cross (30:54), Laura Dobie (30:14), Maureen Hill (42:01), Charlotte Jeffs (30:55), Stephanie Phillips (22:41), Elle Raithaille (42:47) and Ray Shaw (33:52) all beat their course records, and a special mention to Jodie Schubert who completed her 250th parkrun with a wedding themed Harow Lodge parkrun.
