Brentwood: Bomb Squad On Scene As Homes Evacuated After Items Found Inside Property.
News From Essex Police.
A 100-metre cordon is in place in a Brentwood street, with a number of homes evacuated as a precaution while specialist teams examine small items found inside a property.
The cordon has been put in place to allow the items to be safely assessed.
Officers were initially called to reports of a neighbour dispute in Sawyers Grove at around 7.20am today, Friday 30 October.
It was reported that a door had been damaged.
Officers swiftly attended and forced entry to an address, where a man and a woman were arrested.
During a subsequent search of the address, a number of small items were found which required specialist assessment.
Explosive Ordnance Disposal experts were called to the scene and are examining the items to establish what they are.
A number of homes within the 100-metre cordon have been evacuated as a precaution while this work continues.
Police thanked the public for their patience and said they would issue an update as soon as they could.
