Update: 125 Firefighters tackling large blaze at Rainham industrial estate.

A large fire at an industrial estate in Rainham has led to road closures and bus diversions. Around 125 firefighters and 25 engines are tackling the blaze, with a 25-metre cordon in place. Residents are advised to keep windows and doors shut, and to avoid the area if possible. The cause of the fire is unknown.

This week has seen the start of the Junior Citizen’s Scheme run in partnership by Havering Police and Havering Council. Nearly 3,000 pupils will be attending this scheme held in Romford over the two week period from 33 different Primary schools in the borough.

Eid Al-Adha celebrations at Harris Academy Rainham

The Rainham Muslim Trust organised the largest Eid-Al-Adha celebration in Essex, with over 1,500 attendees. The event, held at Harris Academy, brought together the local Muslim community for prayers and festivities. Despite the absence of a mosque, the volunteer-run organisation has been providing prayer services and community support since 2021.
