Parents are being urged to stay alert as anti-social behaviour continues to raise serious concerns across Havering.

Last night, it is believed a group of around 10 youths on the 287 bus were actively targeting others, with claims circulating that Havering is seen as “easy pickings.” The group were reportedly looking to rob fellow young people of money and mobile phones.

Parents have taken to social media to warn each other, sharing concerns and urging extra vigilance, particularly during the busy Easter holiday period when more young people are out and about.

Residents across Hornchurch also reported hearing the police helicopter overhead for a significant period, as officers responded to multiple incidents. Among them were reports of a motorbike theft between Rainham and Dagenham, where it is believed a youth had a knife held to his throat and was forced to hand over the bike.

Despite these troubling scenes, police were out in force working hard. A dispersal order was put in place last night, giving officers the power to move large groups off the streets of Hornchurch and prevent further disorder.

Officers continue to do their very best to protect the community under increasing pressure, responding to incidents and ensuring public safety. Their presence, including the use of the helicopter and dispersal powers, highlights the scale of the challenge they face and their commitment to keeping residents safe.
