NewTwo Fires in One Day at Ingrebourne Valley as Police Support Unit and Helicopter Deployed.

Concerns are growing after two separate fires broke out at Ingrebourne Valley Country Park yesterday, with specialist police officers and the National Police Air Service called to the second incident amid reports it could be arson.

The first fire broke out earlier in the day in an area that residents say has become all too familiar for grass fires. Six fire engines were quickly dispatched, with firefighters once again racing to bring the blaze under control before it could spread further across the park.

However, just hours later, emergency services were called back to the country park after a second fire broke out near the Travis Perkins end of Ingrebourne Valley.

This time, alongside firefighters, officers from the Metropolitan Police’s Territorial Support Group attended the scene, while the National Police Air Service helicopter was deployed to assist from above.

The attendance of specialist police resources has led to reports that the second fire may have been started deliberately, although no official confirmation has yet been given.

Anyone with information about either fire is urged to contact the Metropolitan Police or Crimestoppers anonymously on 0800 555 111.
