Police have seized two dogs in Havering following a distressing incident in Raphael Park where a two-year-old girl was injured and required hospital treatment. The incident has caused significant concern among local families and park users, with officers confirming that enquiries are ongoing.

The incident took place in Raphael Park, Romford, at around 12.25pm on Monday 2 February, a time when the park is often busy with parents, carers and young children.

The girl was taken to hospital for treatment to her injuries. Her condition has not been formally updated, but the incident has understandably caused distress within the local community. Many residents have expressed concern about safety in public spaces, particularly in parks frequently used by families.

On Thursday 5 February, Metropolitan Police officers seized two rottweiler-type dogs from an address in Romford as part of the investigation. No arrests have been made at this stage.

A Metropolitan Police spokesperson said: “Officers are investigating an incident in Raphael Park, Romford, at around 12:25hrs on Monday, 2 February, where a two-year-old girl is alleged to have been attacked by two dogs, causing injuries that required hospital treatment.

We take incidents of this nature incredibly seriously. Earlier today, Thursday, 5 February, officers seized two rottweiler-type dogs from an address in Romford.

We have been in touch with the victim’s family to update them on progress in the investigation.

No arrests have been made at this stage and our investigation continues.”

Police have appealed for anyone who witnessed the incident or has relevant information to come forward. Officers have asked that people contact police on 101 or online, quoting CAD 4365/02FEB.
