Romford MP Calls On Clearly Labelling Of All Meat Products-“People Simply Want The Option Of Not Eating Halal Meat-I believe that non stun slaughter is barbaric.”
Yesterday, June 9, the Member of Parliament for Romford-Andrew Rosindell spoke in Parliament calling on the clear labelling of all meat products giving people the choice of not eating Halal meat.
Mr Rosindell asked for the correct labelling of all meat being purchased and the need to know that the animal was not killed via a non stun slaughter.
Mr Rosindell, who has campaigned for animals for many years, said: “Yesterday, I spoke up for the residents of Romford and for the millions across the United Kingdom who simply want the option of not eating Halal meat.
“I believe that non stun slaughter is barbaric. However, if it is to stay in some form, then people must have a right to know what they are eating and be able to make a choice for themselves.
“The minimum change that is required is for full transparent labelling of meat products.”

It may or may not be news to Mr Rosindell that we already have the option to eat non-halal meat. It’s not compulsory in the UK.
It’s unlike Rosindell to continue to stoke a culture war, suppose he has to stay relevant somehow.
