Havering’s new Mayor appointed at Full Council meeting in shock move by HRA.
Havering has a new Mayor, Councillor Gerry O Sullivan. Councillor O Sullivan is based at St Andrews Ward in Hornchurch and is a Havering Residents Association Councillor. The move to not elect the previous Deputy Mayor, Councillor Patricia Brown, did come as a shock to the Labour Group. It has been a known fact across the borough that the Deputy Mayor becomes Mayor after serving as deputy for a year. However, this was not to be the case for Councillor Patricia Brown.
Councillor O Sullivan is a long standing ward councillor in Hornchurch and is very active in his ward. He was recently involved in the restoration of the Hornchurch War Memorial that was vandalised two years ago.
