Romford MP denounces Sadiq Khan in Prime Minister’s Question Time highlighting his constituents dissatisfaction towards the Mayor’s governance.

On Wednesday 20 March during Prime Minister’s Questions in the House of Commons, Member of Parliament for Romford, Andrew Rosindell, voiced the deep concerns of his constituents regarding the current Mayor of London, Sadiq Khan. In his impassioned question to the Prime Minister, Mr Rosindell highlighted the dissatisfaction felt by the people of Romford towards Mayor Khan’s governance and advocated for greater independence for traditional boroughs like Havering.

Addressing the Prime Minister, the Romford MP stated: “The people of Romford are appalled by the catastrophic reign of the current Mayor of London. Does he agree that traditional boroughs such as Havering should have more independence from City Hall? In the meantime, to save London, should we not sack Sadiq and elect Susan Hall as the next Mayor of our capital?”

In response, the Prime Minister acknowledged Mr Rosindell’s dedication to his constituency and expressed understanding towards the desire for greater autonomy for Havering. While stating that there are no immediate plans to redraw boundaries, the Prime Minister echoed the concerns raised by Mr Rosindell regarding Mayor Khan’s governance. He emphasised the need for positive change, suggesting that the restoration of pride in London could only be achieved through electing Susan Hall as the new Mayor.

Following the exchange in the House of Commons, Andrew Rosindell took to social media to share his sentiments further. On platforms such as Twitter, he reiterated the frustration of Romford residents over Mayor Khan’s leadership and advocated for the election of Susan Hall as a solution to the challenges facing London.

Perhaps Mr. Rosindell should encourage his constituents to actually vote in the Mayoral election, turnout last time was 47%, lower in places like Romford.

How dare Andrew Rosindell presume that all voters in Romford share his view. They are not an amorphous lump. I have lived in Romford for over 30 years and have always identified as ‘outer East London’ rather than Essex – the more so because of the benefits in being in the GLA as opposed to the parochial Essex CC. Personally, I hope Mr Khan wins again as the alternative (Ms Hall) with her divisive populism would only degrade the city on the national and international stage. She has already shown herself to be a liar on several occasions (the baseless claim that London’s Jews were ‘scared’ of the mayor and the totally false Oyster card theft spring to mind) and would be unfit for the post.
It’s funny that Mr Rosindell wasn’t as opposed to the GLA having jurisdiction over the LONDON Borough of Havering when the previous mayor, the dishonest, corrupt, lazy, incompetent narcissist Johnson, was in charge.
Remember Mr Rosindell, you will be standing again later this year and, hopefully, the ‘people of Romford’ will realise what an utter joke and embarrassment you have been as the MP and vote accordingly – but I will not presume that they all feel as I do.
