Labour representatives tackle pedestrian safety issues along the A1306.
Margaret Mullane, Labour’s Prospective Parliamentary Candidate for Dagenham and Rainham, has combined forces with Beam Park Councillor Matt Stanton to tackle two pedestrian safety issues along the A1306 New Road.
Councillor Stanton had reported to Havering Council a section of damaged fencing at the junction of Marsh Way and the A1306 in January.
Councillor Matt Stanton told the Havering Daily: “I raised this matter with Havering Council back in January just after the road traffic accident had damaged the fencing at this location that is there to help protect pedestrians. There was a further accident at this location in May and I again chased the need for repairs. Even though there was a delay to the works, I was pleased that the repairs were carried out here a few weeks ago.”
Separate to this, further along the A1306 at the junction with Lambs Lane North, another section of fencing protecting pedestrians had been damaged. Local residents had reported this to Margaret Mullane and she raised the issue with Havering Council.
Margaret Mullane, Labour’s Prospective Parliamentary Candidate for Dagenham and Rainham told the Havering Daily: “Matt is a diligent and hardworking Labour Councillor and it’s great to see him getting results for local people. I am also relieved to learn from Havering Council that the order to carry out the repair to the fencing at Lambs Lane North has been placed and should be carried out soon.”
Local resident Fay Hough said: “Thanks to our local Labour Councillor, Matt Stanton and to Margaret Mullane for being so persistent with these safety issues for local people.”
