A Tribute to HM Queen Elizabeth II

Autistic Conservative writer from the Havering Daily Charlie Keeble pays tribute to Queen Elizabeth II

Queen Elizabeth was the longest reigning monarch of Great Britain and the Commonwealth of Nations. I always treasured having her as the Queen of my nation and I watched the way she devoted herself to service of the people. Just like what she declared in her maiden speech way back in 1947, the Queen has been like the spirit of this majestic island nation. 

She always praised people for their resilience through times of hardships like war, economic meltdowns, violence and of course the pandemic. I was amazed by how much she encouraged people to be willing to undertake challenges that came before them. Even though she was a woman living a regal livelihood, she understood her people’s struggles. This was because to her being a head of state was a challenge in itself and she was surrounded by struggles on a daily basis. For that she always held onto her hope in people and the wellbeing of the nation. This is one thing that I admire about Elizabeth 2nd the most.

Queen Elizabeth also turned the Commonwealth into a force of good for the wellbeing of democracy and civil rights in Britain’s former colonies and territories. I have even played a part in the Commonwealth and I saw how much value this voluntary organisation means to it’s citizens. With the Queenas it’s head she has kept stability, peace and harmony in these nations as they dealt with chaos and devastation. 

For 70 years she embodied the heart and soul of Great Britain and was respected across the Commonwealth. I understand the value of the Commonwealth to her as I have been in voluntary service to it’s citizens myself. When I was a volunteer at the Commonwealth Games in Glasgow 2014 I saw the Queen talk of her appreciation for the athletes representing their countries. She said that they showed considerable strength and support for friendships in the Commonwealth. That showed she was a great peacemaker and valued human endeavours. I myself had a wonderful endeavour taking part in volunteering for these games and I am now a staunch advocate of the Commonwealth. So she has truly inspired me to do great things for friendship and human endeavours.

Thank you for everything Ma’am, you have made a very good reign for yourself. I am glad to have been a servant to the athletes of the Commonwealth Games that made me proud to have you as our head of state.
