Pro active policing operation sees many officers target Romford shopping centres to tackle anti social behaviour.

On Friday 24 of June a large team of officers were in place across a variety of Romford shopping centres to target anti social behaviour.

Operation Yamhill focuses on tackling anti social behaviour across the borough and on Friday night officers targeted Romford town centre.

The successful operation was run by Sergeant Louis Shuttleworth and overseen by Inspector Zed Asghar who have made Operation Yamhill a big success across Havering. Officers have been pro actively working across troubled hotspots and will continue to do this for the foreseeable future including working night shifts in a bid to reduce town centre anti social behaviour.

The officers attended the Brewery Shopping Centre and Mercury Mall where a knife arch was used alongside drug dogs.

80 stop and searches were undertaken with drugs found and removed.

A youth was found in possession of a knife and was subsequently arrested for possession of a bladed article where he was bailed to appear at a youth court.

Officers were also in Hornchurch focusing on driving offences.

Well done to all the officers involved for this fantastic operation that has once again provided great results.
