Resident’s Association prospective councillor for Havering-atte-Bower ready to take on Council leader head on.

Carol Perry is running as a Residents Association Councillor for Havering-atte-Bower ready to challenge the leader of the Council for his seat and is ‘throwing the kitchen sink’ at it.

Today, prospective councillor for Havering-atte-Bower, Carol Perry tells the Havering Daily why she is running as a Residents Association Councillor.

When my husband Cllr Bob Perry exposed the attempted manipulation of the boundary commission process I was immensely proud that he had the courage to speak out and warn people what was going on, if it hadn’t been for his intervention and the support of HRA, Councillor Damian White may well have got away it.

This is what prompted me to join HRA, as like my husband I cannot idly stand by and ignore the contempt being shown towards residents by this administration led by Councillor White.

It also pains me to see the decline in services across the borough and in particular the Havering atte Bower area encompassing parts of Collier Row, which has suffered badly under this current administration. It’s time for change and I will campaign for those services to be restored. This ward has been badly neglected over the past four years, streets unswept, pavements and roads are often dangerous for road users and pedestrians alike. I do not think council tax payers are getting value for money judging by the failing services we have to endure under this administration, and if the conservatives are returned to power this sorry state will continue despite the 2.9% increase in council tax proposed by Councillor White.

You do not have to put up with this situation, lend me your vote in May and I will fight to get you the services you deserve in return for your council tax money. It’s time for Havering to be run by local people, for local people without the Westminster politics.
