Parking drama continues by Romford school.

Parents parking across driveways and on double yellow lines as they drop their children off at Hylands School on Granger Way, are causing a parking nightmare for residents living on Globe Road.

It is believed that two parents were involved in an altercation last Friday 15 October over a parking spot that has triggered more unhappiness for locals who live on nearby streets that have to deal with selfish parents causing traffic chaos.

In an article last week in the Havering Daily, local resident Ken Holdsworth, spoke about this ten year ongoing battle to resolve the parking nightmare.

A meeting was organised on Monday for residents to voice their concerns, but further action now needs to be taken.

Ward Councillor for the area Councillor Judith Holt told the Havering Daily:
“Mr. Holdsworth has shown me his footage of the school traffic and we are appalled at the inconsideration shown by the drivers to the residents of Globe Road. It is a difficult situation which needs solving on a number of levels, in terms of the traffic flow and the school entrance. I have requested an urgent meeting with the Assistant Director of the Public Realm at Havering Council to advise on the best course of overall action and will be in direct contact with the Globe Road residents when a response is received. Please be assured that we are very aware of the problem and are looking for ways to solve it.

“We have been asked by CCHQ to suspend campaigning owing to the murder of Sir David Amess M.P. but residents are welcome to contact me by e-mail.”
