A special church service was held yesterday, Sunday 11 of April at Saint Nicholas’ Church in Elm Park to pay tribute to HRH Prince Philip who sadly passed away last Friday.

Councillor Stephanie Nunn and Barry Mugglestone attended the service conducted by Reverend Amanda Keighley and Father Tom.

Councillor Mugglestone told the Havering Daily: ” Rev Amanda Keighley conducted the service and Father Tom preached a very interesting sermon about Prince Phillip which started with a poem “On the Death of a Great Man” by Phillips Brooks who is better known for writing the lyrics to “O Little Town of Bethlehem.

“We were very pleased to have HM The Queen’s representative Colonel Mark Bryant MBE, DL and his wife Enid in attendance at the service. I must say it was an excellent service showing respect to the Prince, God bless him and may he rest in peace. Thanks to all who quickly put this respectful service together and Andrew Ruff for the photograph.”
