Romford Doctor guilty of 25 sex offences.

A Romford doctor has today been found guilty at the Old Bailey of 25 sex offences against six patients.

Manish Shah who practised at the Mawney Medical Centre preyed on patients over five years from May 2009 to June 2013.

The court heard how the Romford doctor preyed on his victims who had cancer concerns to undertake unnecessary intimate examinations that were all for his own sexual gratification, including victims as young as 11 years old.

Mr Shah denied his wrong doings quoting he was practising ‘defensive medicine’.

After deliberating for twenty six hours, the jury found Shah guilty of twenty five sex offences against six patients.

Shah gave healthy women under the age of twenty five smear tests and performed breast examinations on under fifty year olds.

Prosecutor for the case Kate Bex said Shah particularly preyed on his patients cancer fears to consent to them having examinations.

He will be sentenced on the 7th of February.
