The Leader of Havering Council has moved to reassure the borough that Havering Volunteer Centre (HVC) will be funded into the future, recognising the vital role the organisation plays in supporting communities across Havering.
Romford Labour Councillor, for St Alban’s Ward, Jane Keane has been thanked for her part in saving the Havering Volunteer Centre (HVC) from funding cuts.

Havering Volunteer Centre, which receives around £56,000 of support from Havering Council yearly, enables the Council to save millions of pounds by fulfilling many duties and roles, some of which are statutory, and others which help the Council to avoid more significant expenditure.

It is the only centre in Havering with a “large capacity of volunteers who have the ability to mobilise them in a swift manner and with the ability to carry out their duty and functionality”.
