Collier Row Gets a Fresh Look as Council Launches Deep Clean.
Collier Row town centre has received a welcome facelift, with Havering Council and its street cleaning contractors, FCC, carrying out a thorough deep clean to help make the area cleaner, brighter and more welcoming for residents and visitors.

The deep clean forms part of the Cabinet’s 100 Day Plan, which promised visible improvements to Havering’s streets and town centres, delivering the cleaner public spaces residents want to see.
FCC crews have been making the most of quieter morning hours, when fewer people are around, to carry out the intensive cleaning work with minimal disruption to the town centre.
Specialist machinery, including the powerful Gladiator MV7000, has been used to tackle stubborn dirt across large pedestrian areas. The machine features a mechanical scrubbing deck and uses steam to help achieve a thorough clean, supported by teams operating jet washers and mechanical street sweepers.
The work goes beyond simply sweeping the pavements. Crews have been tackling ingrained grime around local businesses, removing unsightly graffiti, washing street furniture and cleaning street signs to help restore a fresher appearance to the area.
For residents and businesses, these improvements offer a welcome step towards maintaining a cleaner and more attractive town centre.
The programme began in Romford in August before moving on to Hornchurch, with Collier Row now benefiting from the council’s renewed focus on the appearance of local streets.
The Cabinet is also considering extending the deep cleaning programme to other town centres across the borough in the coming weeks.
With cleaner pavements, refreshed street furniture and a more welcoming environment, Collier Row has become the latest area to benefit from the drive to improve Havering’s public spaces.
