The Kids Bank HQ Completes its 1,200 Referral Sealing its Place In Havering As A Vital Charity That Supports Families In Need.

The Kids Bank HQ is marking an important milestone after completing its 1,200th referral, helping another local family access essential clothing and support.

The 1,200th referral was fulfilled from the charity’s Bretons Manor base, where The Kids Bank HQ operates across two floors of the building. Dedicated volunteers sort, organise and prepare donated clothing and essential items before they are passed on to families experiencing financial hardship and deprivation.

The charity also supports families through Marks Gate Family Hub and through its Kideco shop at Lakeside Shopping Centre, helping to make support accessible to families across the local area.

The Kids Bank HQ has grown thanks to the generosity of local people, volunteers, businesses and organisations who donate clothing, essential items, time and financial support.

Kelly Rosevear, Interim CEO and co-founder of The Kids Bank HQ, said:

“I am incredibly proud to see us reach our 1,200th referral at Bretons Manor. As a co-founder, this really does feel like a huge milestone for us.

“What makes it so meaningful is knowing that behind every single referral is a real child and a real family who needed support at a difficult time. For us, this has never just been about handing over clothes or essential items — it is about making sure families feel supported, respected and cared for.

“This 1,200th referral represents just one of our sites. Across The Kids Bank HQ, we are supporting hundreds of families every month, and the need continues to grow.

“I am also enormously proud of our volunteers. So much of the work happens quietly behind the scenes, with people giving their time to sort donations, prepare items and make sure families receive what they need with dignity. We simply could not do it without them or without the continued kindness of our local community.”

With Christmas approaching, The Kids Bank HQ is now asking local businesses, organisations and community groups to support its Christmas campaign.

Support this Christmas will help the charity not only provide gifts for children over the festive period, but also continue supporting families into the new year.

Local organisations and individuals can get involved by picking up a Christmas giving tag from the Kideco shop at Lakeside Shopping Centre or by making a financial donation here:

The charity would also love to hear from businesses interested in donating items, fundraising, volunteering or becoming longer-term community supporters.

The Kids Bank HQ continues to rely on the kindness of the local community to help ensure families facing hardship can access practical support when they need it most.
