Join Laurence Kamm and a host of local poets for another free Evening of Poetry and Entertainment, this Friday 17 July at 6:30pm at Wennington Parish Church, Rainham.

Sit back and relax in the uniquely beautiful 12th century Wennington Church and enjoy the refreshments while you bathe in talented local voices bringing classic verse to life – sometimes in full costume(!) – as well as exclusive original work by local poets, including founder Laurence Kamm and local historian, author and poet, Coral Jeffery.
The Evening of Poetry – as it was known originally – began in the wake of the Wennington Village fire that occurred on 19th July 2022, during which seventeen homes were completely destroyed.
Alongside Ruth and the support of Havering Changing, Laurence decided in 2024 to try to bring everyone together by way of an Evening of Poetry in Wennington’s unique 12th century local church.
Such was the success of that initial evening, seasonal events continue with gusto. This is very much testament to the tireless work of Laurence Kamm, the church-community and all his supporters, including his daughter, son-in-law and many others.

Everyone is welcome – the event is free, laid back…and a lot of fun!
