Our Farm Is Your Farm: Wellgate Opens Its Gates For A Day Of Summer Fun.

This Saturday 20 June, residents from across Havering are invited to Wellgate Community Farm for a fantastic Summer Solstice Open Day packed with food, fun and family-friendly activities.

With the theme of “Our Farm Is Your Farm”, the day promises something for everyone and is a wonderful opportunity to discover one of Havering’s most treasured community spaces.

Visitors can look forward to:

• Playful animal encounters

• Farm tours

• Community stalls

• Ice cream

• Sizzling summer food

• A bouncy castle

• A family fun dog show

• Games and activities for all ages

But Wellgate Community Farm is much more than just a place to visit.

This idyllic and much-loved Havering gem truly lives up to its name.

Through the dedication of its volunteers, the farm has become a thriving hub for community life, working closely with local schools, organisations and residents to provide educational opportunities that connect people with nature, animals and the land around them.

The farm is also a remarkable example of what can be achieved when a community comes together.

What was once a neglected wasteland filled with rubble and waste has, through years of hard work, commitment and care, been transformed into the flourishing farm enjoyed by thousands today.

Home to no fewer than ten species of animals, including rare-breed goats and endangered newts, the farm offers visitors a unique chance to enjoy hands-on experiences with nature in a relaxed environment.
