17 year old arrested for drugs and weapons offences in Hornchurch after swift work by police and CCTV operators.
A 17 year old boy has been arrested on suspicion of drug dealing and possession of an offensive weapon following swift action by police and Havering CCTV operators in Hornchurch.
On Thursday 7 May, officers from the Romford Town Centre Team were out on patrol when Havering CCTV operators alerted them to suspected drug offences taking place in the High Street area of Hornchurch.
Officers quickly responded and arrested the teenager on suspicion of possession with intent to supply drugs and possession of an offensive weapon.
The arrest has once again highlighted the vital partnership work taking place between the Metropolitan Police, Havering CCTV teams and the Havering Joint Task Force in helping to keep dangerous offenders and weapons off the streets.
The operation forms part of ongoing efforts across Havering to target drug crime, antisocial behaviour and those carrying weapons in the borough.
Residents have repeatedly called for tougher action on crime in town centres and officers say visible patrols and strong partnership working remain key tools in tackling offending and protecting the public.
