Romford’s Brock Whiston Selected for Team England at 2026 Commonwealth Games
Paralympic champion Brock Whiston from Romford has been selected to represent Team England at the Glasgow 2026 Commonwealth Games.
Whiston has been named as part of Team England’s para-swimming squad for the Games, which will take place at the Tollcross International Swimming Centre in Glasgow from 24 to 29 July.
The Romford swimmer continues to build on an incredible career in the pool, having become a Paralympic gold medallist at Paris 2024 after winning the SM8 200m individual medley, alongside taking silver in the SB8 100m breaststroke.
Whiston is one of several Paralympic champions included in a strong Team England para-swimming squad, alongside names including Alice Tai, Poppy Maskill and Rebecca Redfern.
Brock, who is affiliated with Barking and Dagenham Aquatics Club and London Disability Swimming Club, has become one of Havering’s most successful sporting figures in recent years and continues to inspire young athletes across the borough.
The Commonwealth Games selection follows another strong year for the Romford athlete, who remains one of Britain’s leading female para-swimmers in the SB8 and SM8 classifications.
Team England officially announced the swimming and para-swimming squad this week ahead of this summer’s Games in Scotland.
