Eight fire engines rush to Dagenham house fire as crews battle blaze from above.


Eight fire engines and around 60 firefighters tackled a house fire on Ballards Road in Dagenham late last night.

Part of the roof of the property was alight as crews arrived at the scene, with firefighters working quickly to bring the blaze under control.

One of the London Fire Brigade’s 32 metre turntable ladders was deployed to help firefighters tackle the fire from above.

Control Officers received eight calls regarding the incident, with the first emergency call coming in at 23:03.

Crews from Dagenham, Wennington, Ilford and surrounding fire stations attended the scene.

The fire was brought under control by 23:45.

The cause of the fire is now under investigation.
