“Havering Council has to be radical and uncompromising in putting the best interests of Havering first”-Andrew Rosindell MP

The Reform Romford Member of Parliament Andrew Rosindell writes in the Havering Daily on his historic win as Havering becomes the first London borough to be led by a Reform Council.

My heartfelt thanks to the people of Romford for placing their trust in my Team 23 of Reform UK candidates in all eight wards within the Romford constituency, ensuring that Havering has become a Reform UK controlled borough.

Congratulations to all the newly elected Reform UK councillors in Romford who will work with me to fight for our local community from Havering-atte-Bower to Hornchurch, Rush Green to Rise Park and Collier Row to Ardleigh Green. Romford is now completely turquoise!

For the first time since Havering was established in 1965, there are no Conservative councillors in our borough. A verdict which was fully justified after the dishonest and misleading CCHQ managed campaign they fought, spreading false information to frighten local people. It was a shameful campaign and defeat was the inevitable consequence.

Victory for Reform UK under the leadership of Nigel Farage was an historic moment in the political history of Havering, as well as validating my own decision to join Reform UK, which is what the overwhelming majority of my voters wanted me to do, as these results prove.

Havering Council must now change under a new administration that has to be radical and uncompromising in putting the best interests of Havering first, whilst standing up to Starmer’s socialist government and challenging the legitimacy of the Mayor of London.

With a Reform UK Council and a Reform UK MP, working with a future Reform UK government, everything will be possible. We must sieze the chance to do things to benefit Havering that the old parties were too timid to contemplate.

So the time has come to fight to put Havering in a better place; restore pride to Romford; defend our character as a town and country borough; achieve a fairer financial settlement for Havering; and return to being a fully self-governing local authority, free from control of City Hall. All of this is now within reach!

Reform UK in Havering must now be the most reformimg council in our borough’s history!
