Plain Clothes Officers Across Havering Step Up the Fight Against Shoplifting.

Neighbourhood policing teams in Havering have stepped up their fight against shoplifting after retail premises in Rainham were repeatedly targeted.

Plain-clothed officers teamed up with security staff in a proactive operation that resulted in the arrest of a man who has since been charged with theft.

Havering Neighbourhood’s Acting Chief Inspector Charlie Routley told the Havering Daily “Retail crime and offences against retail workers are a priority for us here in Havering. Staff should feel safe at work and not have to worry about being assaulted or threatened. Proactive operations such as this one are ongoing in different areas across Havering and we will continue to target those offenders who cause the most harm within our communities.”
