Havering Council Launch New Consultation On Special Educational Needs.
A new consultation has been launched to hear the views of Havering parents and carers of children with Special Educational Needs and Disabilities (SEND).
Havering Council is applying to the Department for Education for a grant to improve local services for SEND children and young people and want to hear more about the issues that affect them and to ensure its focus is on the right areas.
There are around 6,000 children and young people with special educational needs and disabilities in the borough.
Councillor Oscar Ford, Cabinet Member for Children and Young People, said:
“We’re committed to improving the lives of young people with special educational needs and disabilities and their families so it’s important that we hear what their needs and concerns are.
“The SEND survey will help to inform our planning for the future and ensure we provide the best outcome for children and young people with SEND.”
The survey closes on Friday, 7 April.
