Residents living near the Launders Lane fire are tired of dealing with the chemical smell coming from the land on a daily basis.

They are struggling to deal with the awful smell being emitted from the area that is impacting their quality of life and are asking for instant action and not just a meeting.

Kelly, who lives not far from Launders Lane told the Havering Daily:

“I’ve had enough!. I am crying my eyes out tonight as the chemical smell has been really bad the past few days. I’ve had a headache all weekend. I’m struggling to sleep and do day to day activities. I know it is ruining my health. I live near Harris Academy. The smell is very strong here. I dread to think what is like right next to it
“I’m very angry that the meeting last week ended with the idea of having another meeting. Why is it taking so long? To add insult to injury the comment in this week’s email council newsletter was insulting to residents. The line that states ‘Currently they are not causing physical danger to local people.’

“Physical and mental damage is being caused to residents. I have been waiting 6 months for an asthma test.
“I’ve just had to buy an air purifier which is something I can’t really afford right now.
We need emergency action now, not more meetings! “
