East Area Violence Suppression Unit remove machetes off the streets.

Well done to East Area’s Violent Suppression Unit who removed two very dangerous knives off our street this week. On Monday 20 June Team 4 were patrolling Academy Way in Dagenham due to an attempted knife point robbery having taken place the day before. Whilst patrolling this estate the team noticed a group of males standing outside of one the blocks.

As officers approached the males, two made off and officers gave chase. One male was then seen discarding a large machete. Tasers were then drawn and both males were successfully detained.

Admissions were then made to knife possessions and a second male was found in possession of cannabis and an offensive weapon.
