A Labour Mayor was chosen at last’s night’s full council meeting to bring in a new era for Havering. Beam Park ward Councillor Trevor McKeever was voted in by 27 to 22 votes, as the borough’s new mayor, with Councillor Stephanie Nunn chosen as Deputy Mayor.

This was the first full council meeting since the local elections on May 5 with many changes taking place.

Councillor McKeever is a well known community activist across the local area and a well respected one. He is a former fire fighter with a great deal of knowledge on many issues, including health and safety. Councillor McKeever already sits on many police ward panels and supports the local community to the best of his ability.
