‘We cannot have another four years of Damian White as leader of the local Conservatives,’ were the words of Barry Major who is organising a protest outside the Town Hall in Romford on Wednesday May 25.
Mr Major is disappointed that the Havering-atte-Bower councillor has been chosen by the local councillors to be their leader once again.
“Newly elected councillors need to be aware that the people here in this borough do not want him at the helm. We have had enough. Look at everything that has gone on, it has spiralled out of control. Now is the time that we must make our voices heard and show councillors that the people in this borough do not want him in charge.”
Mr Major is angry at how the borough has been run over the past four years, especially at the parking issues that took place several years ago.
“We held many protests over the parking charge increases here in Havering that caused so many problems for local residents, that made him very unpopular. When we protested against this, he called us ‘nutters’. It really has been four terrible years and we do not want another four years of him in charge. This is why I am urging people to come and join the protest and make your voice heard. The more people the more noise we can make and the more people will have to listen to us.
“I am urging all the newly elected councillors to please listen to us and not side with Damian White. If not, where will we be in another four years?”
