The Havering Daily is running a list of different candidates in preparation for tomorrow’s local elections.

Today we meet Trevor McKeever, Labour candidate for Beam Park ward.

I already represent the residents of Beam Park in several roles. I am Vice chair of the Police Panel, I am on the Safer Neighbourhood Board and I serve as Health and Safety rep for the Mardyke Community Centre. I am also Beam Park Co-ordinator for MP Jon Cruddas’ office.
I was a founding member of the Havering Covid 19 Mutual Aid Group and received a community award by Tesco for my work during the pandemic.
Labour has achieved many positive results in Beam Park, for example the removal of dangerous cladding for the tenants and leaseholders in Orchard Village at no cost to them. We secured a £20,000 grant to keep the Mardyke Community Centre open and also funding secured by myself to upgrade their computer systems. We are the only party that has actively campaigned for the Beam Park Station.
We have seen the neglect of this area by the Tory administration and the local RA councillors. I think that Beam Park deserves better and I have shown that I am not a talker but a man of action who gets things done.
As a former firefighter of thirty years, I know how easy it can be to one day not have a care in the world and then to lose all your possessions and your home. I know how people are suffering now with the Cost Of Living Crisis and they need councillors who provide the correct help and get things done.
