‘Disgraceful and ugly- that’s what we are left with’.
Beam Park home owners angry at the empty shell buildings left following the withdrawal of developers after the removal of the new station plans.
Home owners living on Askwith Road in Rainham are furious being left looking at empty shell buildings as developers have pulled out after being told that the plans for train station had been scrapped.
Many new properties remain un-constructed with just frames left as a reminder of what should have been. Developers were sold the land after being told a station was being built, now it has emerged that a new station has not been agreed and developers have abandoned ship and left just empty frames up and gone.
Ms Hayward who lives in bungalow next to these horror landscapes, spoke to the Havering Daily.
“These new properties are literally a metre from my property. They have knocked down a joint wall and I was informed that when the properties were built, I would have a new wall. Now, all building has stopped and I am left with wooden hoarding instead. All the neighbour hood is fed up with what is going on here. We have just been left looking at these ugly sites and no-one seems to be doing anything about it.
“I have objected to this at endless planning meeting but no one seems to care. What we need is new family homes not dirty, ugly tower blocks that are badly built. These are built too close to my property, they block out the light and it has made an impact on my phone signal.” Having spoken to Ms Hayward on her mobile yesterday, we can confirm that the signal dropped at least three times during the conversation.
“This really is a shambles,” continued Amanda. “This has been going on for the last ten years. We have been plagued with building works and looking at these horrible ugly complexes going up. I have lived her for 25 years and I can say that this has ruined the area. If I open my patio door, all I get is a mouth full of fumes.
“Someone has to be responsible for all this? Who is going to fix this mess? All the neighbours here are angry at what is going on, we feel let down.”
