Local Tree Surgeon steps in to help South Hornchurch community centre.
A Havering based Gardener and Tree Surgeon has donated his services for free to a South Hornchurch community centre.
Nick Brown from Nick’s Garden and Tree care answered a call for help from the Mardyke Community Centre regarding trees which needed inspecting and pruning to ensure they were still safe after a couple of years without inspection due to lockdowns.
After the request went out on social media for some help, Nick reached out to the centre and offered his services for free.

Nick told the Havering Daily:
“I have been a tree surgeon for 8 years, so for me it is a straightforward job. I lived in South Hornchurch and often used the centre when growing up, so it is a pleasure to be able to help the centre.”
Centre Manager Lesley Blowers was very grateful for Nick’s assistance and told the Havering Daily:
“A huge thank you to Nick Brown for donating his time to help the centre. Our centre is run by a charity so it is always lovely when the community offer to support us. We have many daily visitors, so I wanted to ensure the trees at the centre were safe. This would have been a costly job, however, Nick helped the centre for free and we are very grateful to him.”
