Councillors Linda Hawthorn and Chris Wilkins were at the unveiling of the new village sign at Corbets Tey in Upminster yesterday, Wednesday 22 of December. The sign has been placed on the green close to the Huntsman and Hounds pub.
Just over seventy residents attended the celebrations in Upminster to mark the official unveiling. The sign was provided following fund raising by local residents and a donation from the councillors in the Upminster and Cranham Residents Association.
Special thanks should go to David Wright the local Blacksmith who made the sign at a special cost .
A number of residents had commented to Councillors Linda and Chris that they were delighted that the area stays in Upminster Ward and is not being transferred to Rainham .
