An Operation by Harold Hill and Harold Wood Safer Neighbourhood officers alongside Street Duties Officers saw a special initiative to tackle violence against women and girls across the three east London boroughs.
Officers actively engaged with over 350 women on the street where they were given leaflets about personal protection, around 100 of them were given personal attack alarms and around 200 anti- spike caps for bottles were also handed out.
Additional patrols were completed in Harold Hill and Collier Row by Street Duties officers and Plain Clothes officers. Drugs Dogs were deployed at Gidea Park, Harold Wood, and Romford train station.
The following results were achieved:
Information given to Police by a member of public at Romford station resulted in a male being detained, stop and searched and arrested as he was in possession of a large kitchen knife.
42x stop and searches in all, 32 of them were section 23 MDA (Misuse of Drugs Act and 10 were under section.
1 for offensive weapons.
5x Cannabis seizures, community resolutions given as method of disposal.
