Community hero firefighter donates gifts to the elderly every year.
Tony Gladman from Hornchurch really is an amazing community champion. Not only is he a firefighter who risks his life for us, but for the last eight years has been delivering presents off to the elderly and those in need in our community on Christmas day.
Since Tony’s grandfather died in care home, the firefighter has spent his time on Christmas day going to different care homes and women’s refuges across the borough to put a smile on people’s faces.
Tony’s mum Karen who is immensely proud of her son, told the Havering Daily:
“He never looks for any praise, he does this every year out of the goodness of his heart. All the firefighters help him and join in and we as a family also participate.”
This is a yearly event for Tony and his family who like to help their local community. Tony is a firefighter in Ilford and has got the backing and help of all his colleagues who help wrap up all the gifts.
If you would like to help Tony and donate to his Christmas appeal, please see the list below or email Tony on tonygladman@hotmail.com
Well done Tony and family for being amazing community champions!
