24 Days of Cracking Christmas fun at the Mercury Mall.


The Christmas holidays are nearly here but don’t fret the Mercury has got you covered with over 50 events taking place between now and Christmas that are sure to put everyone in the festive spirit. To make sure you don’t miss out we’ve compiled this essential guide of what’s on at The Mercury this December.

Santa’s Grotto

From November, Romford’s longest- running Santa’s grotto will open it’s doors right up until 3pm on Christmas Eve. The grotto will be open daily from 10am – 5pm and on Sundays at 11am -4pm. Prices from £4.

Snow’s Boutique craft fayre

On December 4th the centre will host a craft fayre with unique gifts filled with local artisan gifts and crafts, ideal for that awkward family member that you have no idea what to get every year. Children can write letters to Father Christmas, meet Elsa and hear her sing from 11am – 3:30pm.

Animal Cracker Trail

From December 3rd the centre will be transformed into a hunting ground worthy of Sherlock Holmes. Find ten Christmas animals in shop windows on the ‘Animal Crackers’ trail using your Mercury Smart Rewards App’ Play to win points & prizes! Download at the Play or Apple store for free.

Is it even Christmas without a choir?

From the first week of December you can rock around the Christmas tree and enjoy a wholesome, traditional festive favourite with daily performances from local community and school choirs.

Fun filled Craft days

Join our resident artists Gill and Nigel to prepare for a crafty Christmas day. From snow globes, pom poms, crackers, and ceramics! Pop – in early to ensure you get to join in! Fun for all ages!

Elfie’s Big Box of Animal Crackers

Which animal is hiding behind the advent calendar door? Keep up to date daily of ‘what’s on’ and watch special fun Elfie episodes on The Mercury’s YouTube channel to get in the mischievous Christmas spirit and be in the running to win prizes! Every day until 34thDecember.

Twas the week before Christmas and so much wrapping to do

As we enter the final weeks before Christmas do you still have your present wrapping to do? Don’t worry, charity volunteers will be there to lend a hand. For a small donation to a good cause, they’ll give you a hand wrapping some of your presents.
