A fire has broken out on Cherry Tree Lane in South Hornchurch in a block of flats.
Witnesses report seeing a woman shouting at residents living in the block of flats urging them to get out in fear that the building could explode.
Emergency service vehicles quickly arrived at the scene to deal with the incident.
Police confirmed that all residents have evacuated the premises safely and the fire has now been extinguished.
