Councillors Dilip and Nisha Patel were guests at a home in Hornchurch on Tuesday 3 of July to see the amazing development of a Silver Birch tree that Councillor Patel planted as Mayor in 2018.

Known as Havering’s most successful Mayor, Councillor Patel had planted the tree two years ago in honour of all the Lions Club members across the UK and the world. There are currently 218,000 Lions Club members whose aim is to help with hunger, environment and other vital issues in our society.

Both Councillors Dilip and Nisha Patel are members of the Lions Club who engage in regular charity work, helping right across our community.

The local Mawney’s and Romford Town Councillors were guest at the home of Dr Rajan Adur and his wife Veena who are also Lions Club members who undertake regular charity work in our community.

Councillor Dilip Patel told the Havering Daily: “It was great to come back and see how well the tree is doing and speak with Dr Adur and his wife Veena about their charity work, especially during the last year that has been so challenging.”

Wow! Another gushing comment about Mr Patel, ‘known as Havering’s most successful, ‘local’ Mayor.’ By whom…. and for what?
