Councillors visit new Boxing club

Councillors Stephanie Nunn and Barry Mugglestone visited the new Essex Ringside Boxing Club in Elm Park last week.

The new boxing club has replaced the Hobby Shop in Elm Park Avenue.

Councillor Stephanie told the Havering Daily:

“We were very impressed when we visited the Essex Ringside Boxing Club at the weekend in what was formerly The Hobby Shop. What a transformation ! Two boxing rings, personal training space and a healthy eating café.

“We were welcomed by Darren Carter and his partner Maria. I asked Darren if he would like a challenge, pointing to Councillor Barry Mugglestone, but Darren definitely seemed keener than Barry did!

Barry and I were pleased to see that all levels and ages are welcomed. Healthy eating and supporting mental health are part of the ethos here.

“This is a great addition to the Elm Park Town Centre.”
