Councillor Natasha Summers and Daniel Beal today write in the Havering Daily:
When Orchard Village originally obtained planning permission in late 2009, future residents were promised a GP Surgery to cover the Estate and the Western side of South Hornchurch ward. This never materialised because the NHS said they couldn’t source one?
More recently, the hoped for Pharmacy to serve Orchard Village residents and the wider area was actually rejected by the NHS as being unnecessary?
The Orchard Village landlord (Clarion) appealed that decision and asked myself and local resident Daniel to explain to an NHS Panel why the Pharmacy was needed on the estate. They did so last year and everyone was waiting with crossed fingers as the decision was delayed. Today however, everyone involved has been advised that the NHS Panel has agreed with myself and Daniel Beal’s arguments and have now approved one to be opened. Well done to all involved.
