The Romford MP Andrew Rosindell has today commemorated the Battle of Britain. This is something very dear to the MP as his father was an RAF Officer.

He told the Havering Daily:

“Eighty years ago, this country stood alone against the forces of evil. Europe had been brought to heel by the monstrous force of Nazism. On this day in 1940, in an enormous national effort, the Luftwaffe met its match as our brave pilots defended this island.

For me personally this day is one of reflection. My own father, Frederick William Rosindell, served in the RAF during the Second World War, although not during the Battle of Britain. It is also especially poignant reflecting on this moment in history during the present crisis, when once again we are engaged in a national effort, albeit against a very different enemy.

I have every confidence that we will once again prevail, and enter into a new period of prosperity.”

We did not stand alone. This is the worst type of historical revisionism. Any one can Google our WW2 allies.

Jesus Christ. The Battle of Britain was won with great contributions from fighter pilots and ground staff from almost every European nation, as well as servicemen and women from the many nations of the empire. And this MP has the brass neck to liken the struggle against Nazi Germany to the self inflicted damage done to us while leaving the EU.

Reprinting this without any comment does a disservice to your readers and journalism everywhere. For shame.
