Tree planted in memory of councillor Barrett.

A tree planting ceremony took place today in Cranham in memory of former Residents Association Councillor Clarence Barrett who died earlier this year.

The ceremony was led by the Deputy Mayor Councillor John Mylod and the tree planting was undertaken by Clarence Barrett’s wife Corinne and their two children Erin and Aiden.

Many local councillors attended alongside Havering’s Chief Executive Andrew Blake Herbert.

Corinne Barrett told the Havering Daily:

It’s really nice that the people who saved him that day gave us two weeks with opportunity to spend some time with him and his friends and family.

Doing this tree planting today is a great testament to him and it gives us something to remember him by and the community he served.”

Borough Chief Executive Andrew Blake Herbert told the Havering Daily:

It’s nice to be here and be able to plant the tree with Corinne and her family in respect and memory of Councillor Clarence Barrett who served in the council for many years as the opposition leader

Corinne Barrett with Erin and Aiden.
The Deputy Mayor, Chief Executive, councillors and the local community all paying their respects.
