A taste of Scandinavia arrives at The Mercury.

On Saturday 23rd November local shoppers and craft makers gathered at The Mercury Shopping centre to celebrate all things Christmas with a Scandinavian twist. The Nordic themed Christmas fayre was bought to life amongst an enchanted winter forest back drop showcasing over 25 local makers and crafters offering Christmas gifts for even the trickiest relatives or friends!

Elsa from the film ‘Frozen’.

This Scandinavian themed fun day bought lots of family activity, craft workshops, demonstrations, face painting, and even a visit from ‘Frozens’ Elsa which was well received on the opening weekend of the new film. The fayre enticed shoppers with delights that make you feel warm in the winter – home baked cake, hot drinks, personalised Christmas gifts and candle scent, the event raised £300 for St Francis Hospice.

Natalie Bays Deputy Centre Manager at The Mercury said;

It was great to see the crafting community coming together for such a great cause, and magical to see children’s faces light up with the appearance of Elsa”
