Trust’s parent support group returns. – The Havering Daily

Trust’s parent support group returns.

It’s back to school week in Havering and this also signals the return of the Sycamore Trust Parent Support Group.  The Sycamore Trust provides help and support for families and individuals on the autistic spectrum Havering, Redbridge and Barking & Dagenham.  The Parent Support Groups are open to anyone caring for a child or young person with autism and they are totally free of charge.

The Sycamore Trust are based in the Autism Hub, in Laurie Walk in the Liberty Shopping Centre.  The parent group is open to anyone, regardless of borough and is a great way to get help and advice and find out about local services.  In many cases, parents or carers supporting a child with autism don’t know where to turn and for people in this situation, the parent groups are a vital first step in the journey.  Parents will get help and advice from people in the same situation as themselves and perhaps more importantly, realise that they are not alone.

The Parent Support Group dates for the autumn are as follows;

  • Friday 13th September
  • Friday 11th October
  • Friday 8th November
  • Friday 13th December

The sessions run from 10.30am to 12 noon and everyone is welcome.  Coffee & biscuits provided!
