Tops Barbers shave heads for charity

Tops Barbers in Harold Hill held a special fun day yesterday to raise money for charity.
The popular barbers in Farnham Road, Hilldene held what is going to be now an annual event, following the success of the day.
Owner of the barbers Simon told the Havering Daily, ‘We held a special charity day yesterday to help raise money for Saint Francis Hospice and Stand Up to Cancer.
‘Our Saturday girl’s mother unfortunately was diagnosed with cancer, so we decided to support her the best way we could and raise money for cancer charities.
‘We held a charity day in June that was a big success, so we decided to repeat this day again yesterday and it was another huge success.’
The event saw many members of the community come out yesterday and participate and local Labour Councillor Carol Beth was even brave enough to shave her head for charity.
Simon continued ‘We had lots of special events going on from chest waxing to a disco. Heads were shaved and lots of candy floss, popcorn and cupcakes were eaten!
‘Thank you to Kerry Brown from The Pink Salon who did all the waxing for us and George Cottle who provided all the candy floss and pop corn on the day. Thank you also to Councillor Carol Beth for taking part and Councillor Jan Sargent for their support. ‘
All the money raised will go to Saint Francis Hospice and Stand Up to Cancer.
