Health Secretary Praises Margaret Mullane MP and Credits Her Campaign for Queen’s A&E Funding Boost.

Health Secretary Yvette Cooper has praised Dagenham and Rainham MP Margaret Mullane for her campaign to secure £42 million for a major transformation of the A&E department at Queen’s Hospital in Romford, crediting her local campaigning for helping to secure the investment.

Margaret Mullane, the Dagenham and Rainham MP, met the Health Secretary yesterday following the announcement of the £42million A&E transformation.

Ms Cooper praised Margaret’s work in fighting to get the £42 million funding for the A&E department at Queen’s Hospital in Romford.

She said: “I want to say a huge thank you to Margaret for all of the campaigning she has been doing for Queen’s Hospital and all the pressures you have had for far too long around the A&E, around the hospital, and that is why we are investing the £42 million in a complete transformation of the A&E services, proper new modern facilities, but that is a result of Margaret’s campaigning and all of the work you have been doing locally to say this is what is really needed for the community.”

Margaret, in response, thanked her local community for supporting her campaigning and signing the petitions, saying: “This is what you have achieved.”
