A community initiative led by Peter Chand has brought Easter joy to local schools and a care home in Dagenham, with hundreds of Easter eggs donated to residents and children.

Peter Chand, working alongside Dagenham United Charity, organised the effort which saw generous support from local businesses R Sees Flooring and Hills Group, who provided the Easter eggs for distribution across the community.

The donation was formally received at Dagenham Green, where Margaret Mullane MP joined Peter Chand, volunteers and supporters to mark the occasion.

Margaret Mullane said: “It’s fantastic to see local businesses supporting residents in this way. This will make a real difference to our community, and I can’t thank the sponsors enough.”

Following the event, the Easter eggs were distributed to local schools and a care home, ensuring that both young people and older residents could enjoy a seasonal treat.

Peter Chand and Dagenham United Charity have been praised for bringing together local businesses, community groups and volunteers to deliver the initiative, highlighting the impact that coordinated local action can have.

The project reflects a wider commitment within the community to support residents, particularly during key times of the year, and demonstrates the positive difference that can be made through partnership and generosity.
